QR CODE GUIDE

How to create a branded QR code for your business in Kenya

A useful business QR code should be easy to scan, point to the right destination and still make sense after it has been printed or shared. Branding can make it feel more intentional, while scan analytics can help you understand whether people are actually using it.

01

Choose one clear destination

Decide what should happen when someone scans the code: open a website, show contact information, display a menu, open a form, share an event page or lead to another public destination. Avoid sending one QR code to a page whose purpose changes frequently unless you control that destination.

02

Brand the code without hurting scan reliability

Use your logo and brand colours carefully, but keep strong contrast between the QR modules and the background. Leave enough clear space around the code and test it on more than one phone before printing large quantities.

  • Use a high-contrast foreground and background
  • Keep the quiet zone around the QR code clear
  • Use a logo that does not cover too much of the code
  • Export a high-resolution file for print
  • Test the final printed size before rollout
03

Use tracking when you need measurable activity

For campaigns, menus, events or printed materials, a trackable QR can help you see scan activity over time. Keep the tracking purpose clear and avoid collecting unnecessary personal information.

ClerkOps QR Studio can save branded QR codes in your workspace and, where tracking is enabled, keep scan activity visible alongside the code.

04

Keep a record of where each QR code is used

Name each QR code by campaign, location or purpose so you can tell later which code was printed on a poster, menu, invoice, package or event material. This prevents old or duplicate codes becoming difficult to manage.
